This is a big landscape painting, titled “Oak trees and afternoon light“.
It’s a view through oak trees to the water, in the wash of warm afternoon light. In the painting, it’s a bright California day. The afternoon light streams through the oaks and reflects off of the yellow and golden grass. Distant hills recede into the blue atmosphere behind the water of the lake.
